About Me

I understand people management and leadership development. Over my career, I have worked in all aspects of human resources management. In my former role as Chief Human Resources Officer, I have worked directly with countless leaders – particularly at the Vice President, Senior Vice President and CEO level – supporting their development as leaders of people, and of organizations.

I understand the complexities of running an organization. In my Executive career, I have held three different C-suite positions. I have had direct executive-level accountability for numerous key business functions, including: product development; business development; customer service; business partnerships; sustainable business (human rights, environmental & governance matters); marketing; legal services; communications; stakeholder relations, and human resources. I have acted as Corporate Secretary for numerous Boards of Directors – both in the private and public sectors.

I have a unique mix of education and training. I have been educated at Queen’s, Columbia and Cambridge, where I have studied law, leadership and business sustainability. I have now added certified coach and adult educator to my credentials. I am an experienced coach, facilitator and public speaker.

About Coaching

Coaching is an approach to support personal and professional change and growth. It is a process through which new insights are gained, and new capabilities are built. Effective coaching work requires that you have a specific topic – one of importance to you – on which you would like to make progress.

There is no “quick fix” to change. Engaging in coaching requires a significant commitment on the part of the client. There will be bi-weekly coaching conversations to surface new insights, and regular “homework” or coaching practices to complete between sessions. Many of these practices require daily focus, practice and reflection.

Coaching sessions can occur in person, or using online platforms such as Zoom.

I have trained extensively with Integral Coaching Canada, and am currently certified as an Integral Professional Coach™.  Integral Coaching™ is a wholistic process of transformation and growth, widely acknowledged to be the cutting edge of coaching practice.  I draw on the comprehensive tools of this coaching methodology, along with my deep experience in leadership development, to design an individual coaching program for you.   This program provides the anchor for our work together.

Accredited Coach (ACC) – International Coaching Federation

Accredited Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation – the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards. As an accredited ACC coach, I have completed approved coach training, completed hundreds of hours of coaching with clients, and successfully passed both knowledge and performance exams. I have also committed to abiding by the ICF Code of Ethics.

DiSC is a personal self-assessment tool used to help improve teamwork, communication and productivity in the workplace. A research-based training tool that helps individuals, teams and organizations innovate and solve problems more effectively. The tool breaks down the creative problem solving process into four steps, and helps identify your natural area(s) of focus.

Teacher & Trainer of Adults (Algonquin College)

This College Certificate program provides educators with strategies and methods geared towards the specific needs of adult learners. Areas of study include: Principles of Adult Learning, Curriculum Development, and Assessment & Evaluation Techniques.

MTBI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator)

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self-report personality inventory designed to identify personality type, strengths and preferences.

How is Coaching Different than Counselling?

While coaching is informed by your individual past, it is not focused on the past. Coaching starts from the present. It works with “what is”, and charts a program for moving forward. Any clients in crisis or in need of therapy will be immediately referred to counselling support.
